Temporal and Spatial Dynamic Evolution of Tourism Efficiency in Jiangxi Province Based on DEA-Malmquist Model
High quality development of tourism industry has become an important engine driving re-gional economic increment.Based on a variety of DEA measurement models,this paper measures the tourism efficiency of the panel data of 11 districts and cities in Jiangxi province from 2011-2020,revealing the development level and spatial-temporal evolution law of the tourism industry in Jiangxi province from static and dynamic perspectives respectively.The results show that:From the static perspective,the variation trend of comprehensive efficiency and scale efficiency of tourism in-dustry in Jiangxi province is almost the same,and pure technical efficiency is at the forefront except 2015,indicating that the overall tourism technical efficiency of Jiangxi province has reached a high level,and return to scale is increasing in all years except 2012 and 2019.It shows that the tourism industry factor input scale in Jiangxi province has not reached the best level.Horizontal comparison of the province's urban areas,Nanchang,Pingxiang and Jiujiang have higher super efficiency,while Ganzhou,Yichun and Fuzhou have lower super efficiency.From the dynamic perspective,due to the impact of COVID-19,the total factor productivity of Jiangxi province was only 0.599 in 2019-2020,significantly decreasing.The horizontal comparison results show that the total factor produc-tivity of the tourism industry in the other 10 regions has a growth rate of more than 1,with an aver-age annual growth rate of 8.5%,except for Fuzhou area,which has a slight decline(6.9%).The research results are of great guiding significance for Jiangxi province to further improve the develop-ment efficiency of tourism industry,balance regional differences,optimize resource allocation and formulate relevant tourism industry development policies.
