Study on Urban Expansion of Jiangxi Province based on DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS Nighttime Light Data
Nighttime light data is widely used in urban expansion monitoring research.Based on 2001-2021 DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS NTL data,the spatial distribution of built-up areas in Jiangxi province was obtained by using threshold method comparison statistical data,and the charac-teristics of urban expansion in Jiangxi province were analyzed.Results show that:1)The information on urban built-up areas in Jiangxi province could be effectively extracted from DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS NTL data by using threshold method comparison statistical data,which can meet the re-quirements of long-term time series.2)The expansion of cities in Jiangxi province gradually acceler-ated from 2001 to 2021,but with different speeds.
