Traditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi are one of the regions with rela-tively abundant resources in Jiangxi province and even in China.However,with the advancement of urbanization,traditional villages have suffered from different degrees of destruction and the threat of cultural loss,so it is important to carry out the centralized protection and cultural inheritance of tra-ditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi.With 274 traditional villages in the south cen-tral region of Jiangxi taken as the research object,the evolution process of traditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi was studied in the dimension of"time-space"and their influencing factors were analyzed.The results show that:1)The situation of"overall cohesion,regional differ-ences"is shown by the traditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi,mainly concentrated in Jinxi county in the northeast,Le'an county and Jishui county in the central part of the country,with a spatial distribution pattern of"small gathering"and"large scattering"with multiple points as the core.2)The traditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi were mainly formed after the song dynasty,and with the change of dynasties,the number of traditional villages increased and they were gathered in Jinxi county in the northeast and Jishui county in the center,forming a spatial distribution direction of"southwest-northeast"gathering.3)The spatial and temporal distribution of traditional villages in the south central region of Jiangxi is the result of many factors such as na-ture,humanities,history and culture.
