Through 1∶50 000 hydrogeological survey,combined with hydrogeological drilling tech-nology,the law of karst development and karst groundwater enrichment in Shangli area of Jiangxi province was analyzed,and the law of drilling wells for water in karst areas was summarized.The re-sults show that the water richness of karst aquifers in different parts of Shangli area was very differ-ent.The factors such as landform,geological structure and stratigraphic lithology have been strictly affected the development degree of karst in the area.The occurrence and enrichment of karst ground-water are closely related to topography,geological structure,stratigraphic lithology,karst development degree and recharge conditions.The contact between soluble rock and non-soluble rock,the tension fracture perpendicular to the main tectonic line and the tension fracture in the synclinal and anticlinal axes are the best location for water exploration and well construction in the research area.
