Research Progress of Short-chain Fatty Acids Promoting the Dissipation of Gout Inflammatory Response
Objective:The aim of this paper is to provide a systematic overview of the role of short chain fatty acids(SCFAs)in the dissipation of the inflammatory response in gout,in order to pro-vide a theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods:we explored the mechanism of SCFAs,the end products of dietary fiber fermentation by intestinal flora,in promoting the dissipa-tion of gout inflammatory response from metabolic receptors, signaling pathways and intestinal barri-ers by using literature search and review. Results:SCFAs bind to G protein-coupled receptor(GPR43)with different affinities, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokine production, and attenuate the inflammatory response by inhibiting the MAPK/NF-КB signaling pathway. In addition,SCFAs ac-ted directly on intestinal epithelial cells to maintain the integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier and prevent the invasion of pathogenic bacteria. Conclusion:The results suggest that SCFAs play an im-portant role in the dissipation of inflammatory response in gout, mainly through reducing pro-inflam-matory factor production, inhibiting inflammatory signaling pathways, and maintaining intestinal bar-rier integrity.SCFAs are expected to be a potential therapeutic target for the clinical treatment of gout, providing new possibilities for the clinical treatment of gout.
