The Chemical Compounds and Anti-tumor Activity of Six Essential Oils from Cinnamomum Schaeff
In order to explore the essential oils of Cinnamomum Schaeff plants and their anti-tumor activities, the chemical components of six essential oils extracted from Cinnamomum camphora and Cinnamomum porrectum were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by GC-MS and GC-FID,and the inhibitory effects of six essential oils on human pancreatic cancer cell PANC-1 and humanhepa-tocarcinoma cell HUH7 were investigated using CCK8 method. The results showed that the main chemical component of sample No.1 was citral(with β-citral content 29.49%and α-citral 35.88%),sample No.2 is mainly α-pinene with 18.53%and 4-terpineol with 24.06%.Lina-lool,1,8-cineole,trans nerolidol predominated in sample No.3,No.4,No.5 respectively, with the content of 94.52%,50.19%and 66.00%.And sample No 6 was predominated by methyl euge-nol(16.24%)and methyl isoeugenol(69.30%).The inhibitory effect on liver cancer cells was sig-nificantly higher than that on pancreatic cancer cells at the same content. In addition, the inhibitory rate of sample No.1,No.5,and No.6 on cancer cells was significantly higher than that of sample No.2,No.3,and No.4.The chemical components of the six essential oils are significantly differ-ent,all of which show strong inhibitory activity on tumor cell proliferation, and are potential raw ma-terials for the development of anticancer drugs.
