Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Significance of Zhadogarqiongle Copper-gold Deposit in Gaize County,Tibet
The paper discusses the geological characteristics of the zhadogarqiongle copper-gold de-posit in Gaize county based on the results of a prospective survey of mineral resources in the Georg Cantor area of Tibet. It also provides a preliminary discussion on the genesis and exploration signifi-cance of the mine. The ore-forming body is a complex mainly composed of granodiorite porphyry, diorite porphyry and diabase porphyry. The host rocks are mainly lithic sandstone and dolomite lime-stone.The main ore-controlling factors are stratum, structure and magmatic rock. The genesis of the copper-gold deposit belongs to magmatic hydrothermal type.Calcareous altered clastic rock serves as he wall rock of the deposit, while the granodiorite is the parent rock of the ore-forming process.Fracture structures facilitate the migration and precipitation of ore-bearing hydrothermal so-lutions,and magmatic-hydrothermal activity is an essential prerequisite for ore formation. The dis-covery of the copper-gold deposit provides a new clue for the exploration of copper-gold deposits on both sides of the Pangong Lake-salween River Junction.
