Sixth generation(6G)mobile network technologies will establish new standards to meet performance requirements that fifth generation(5G)mobile networks cannot achieve.This is due to the high requirements for smarter networks,ultra-low latency,extremely high network communica-tion speeds,and support for a vast array of connected applications.This paper introduces the latest trend,development and characteristics of 6G network operation.It provides a comprehensive over-view of 6G systems in terms of enabling pillar technologies,new elements,requirements,and archi-tectures of 6G systems.The discussion inchudes the challenges and opportunities by 6G mobile tech-nologies,as well as potential future research directions.The goalis to provide an informative guide to stimulate interest and further research in the follow-up research and development of 6G networks,assisting reader to succinctly identify the key technical needs,objectives,new elements that will be needed,advantages and opportunities that can be provided,as well as the challenges that need to be addressed before this new technology can be realized.
