Monitoring and Analysis of Avian Leukemia and White Dysentery in Ningdu Yellow Chickens
In order to understand the prevalence of avian leukemia and white dysentery in Ningdu Yellow Chickens,a total of 866 samples, including 387 serum samples and 479 egg white samples, were collected from Ningdu Yellow Chickens large-scale breeding farm N1 and Ningdu Yellow Chickens free-range farm N2 in 2023.The p27 antigen and ALV-J subtype of avian leukemia virus(ALV-J)were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the white dysentery antibody was detected by plate agglutination assay(SPA).The results showed that the total positive rate of avian leukemia p27 antigen in egg white was 7.1%,with the infection rate of hatching eggs being lower in Ningdu Yellow Chicken large-scale farm N1,where the great-grandparents,grand-parents and parent egg infection rate were all≦5.0% .The overall positive rate of ALV-J antibody in serum was 54.4%,and the overall positive rate of chicken white dysentery antibody was 7.0%,with the white dysentery antibody of chickens from N1 of Ningdu Yellow Chicken large-scale breed-ing farm being completely negative at this stage. The presence of avian leukemia and white dysentery in Ningdu Yellow Chickens was detected. The large-scale breeding showed a good effect on reduc-ing the positive rate of avian leukemia and white dysentery through various purification measures; Therefore,it's imperative for free-range farms to establish an effective purification scheme promptly to reduce the economic loss caused by avian leukemia and white dysentery.
