Analysis of Characteristics and Driving Factors of Spatiotemporal Evolution of Vegetation Coverage in Ji'an City,Jiangxi Province over the Past 20 Years
Vegetation coverage is a key indicator for evaluating ecological quality and formulating en-vironmental policies.A systematic understanding of the state of vegetation coverage is essential for the development and implementation of ecological and environmental protection policies. This paper utilizes Landsat-5 TM and Landsat-8 OLI satellite images from 2001 to 2023 to calculate vegetation coverage. It employs the coefficient of variation,Mann-Kendall trend test,Theil-Sen Median trend and geographic detector to explore the spatiotemporal evolution and its driving factors of vegetation coverage in Ji'an city between 2001 and 2023.The Markov chain model is used to predict future vegetation coverage dynamics. The results indicate that the evolution trend of vegetation coverage in Ji'an city can be divided into two stages:from 2001 to 2007,there was a decrease in high coverage areas;from 2009 to 2023,there was a progressive increase in medium to high vegetation coverage areas.Based on the coefficient of variation,it was found that vegetation coverage around rivers, lakes and urban areas showed larger fluctuations;over 20 years, the vegetation coverage in Ji'an city has significantly improved, and it continues to show a trend of improvement in the future.Ele-vation,temperature and precipitation are the dominant environmental factors impacting vegetation cover in the region, under the interaction of multiple factors, the combinations of elevation and geo-morphologic types,as well as elevation and precipitation, are the main driving factors affecting vege-tation coverage changes in Ji'an city.
