Analysis of Radar Echo Characteristics Short-term Heavy Precipitation in Yifeng,Jiangxi Province From 2012 to 2022
In order to study the"1-hour risk response"standard for short-term heavy precipitation in Yifeng county, the data of Yifeng rainfall and Jiangxi radar mosaic are used to analyze the short-term heavy precipitation in Yifeng county from 2012 to 2022 using principles and methods such as statistics and radar meteorology. The results show that:1)Short-term heavy precipitation occurred 273 times across 18 meteorological observation stations from 2012 to 2022.The highest frequency was at Bankeng Reservoir(19 times),and the lowest was at Shuangfeng Forest Farm(8 times);2)The flocculent echo band contains short band echoes greater than 45 dBZ in large flocculent echo bands(a mixture of stratiform and cumulus clouds). In areas covered by short band echoes,short-term heavy precipitation occurs in multiple locations. The area of short-banded echoes greater than 45 dBZ in the flocculent echo exceeds 500 km2 above;3)Block-shaped individual echoes have a smaller scale, and are mostly isolated, with echo intensity CR ranging from 50 to 60 dBZ.Some-times several block-shaped echoes gather together with gaps between them,or they exist within lar-ger flocculent echo groups.Considerable variability is shown in the reflection of block-shaped indi-vidual echoes on the hourly average echo map;4)Thunderstorm echo band(group),with a 45 dBZ echo area in thunderstorm echo group being≥100 km2,provides a quantitative threshold for identi-fying short-term heavy precipitation. The research results provide guidance for the research on the"1-hour risk response"of short-term heavy precipitation in Yifeng.
