Tooth contact analysis(TCA)of spiral bevel gear can be solved for the contact pattern and transmission error which are the important assessment items on the transmission performance. However, due to the strong nonlinear and numerical coupling relationship,it leads to the poor solution accuracy, the low efficiency and the poor stability. Therefore,a new TCA collaborative solution considering both contact pattern and transmission error is proposed.Firstly, with application of the meshing principle, the expression of tooth surface discretization is performed. In three-dimension coordinate space, the rotation matrix is used to simulate the meshing motion of the gear pair for computing the contact path and transmission error. Then, according to the curvature characteristics of the numerical tooth surface, accurate analytical solution contact pattern is developed. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by numerical instance results.
