The Size Structure and Spatial Distribution of Wild Osmanthus fragrans Population as Landscape Plant
By applying the method of "space replacing time" and contiguous grid quadrat and other 5 kinds of aggregation index, the size structure and spatial distribution patterns of Osmanthus fragrans wild populations in Sifengzai area of Changting county in Fujian province were studied, then the change process of spatial pattern of O. fragrans in different growth stages was analyzed. The results showed that O. fragrans wild populations had a trend that the number of population decreased with the development of growth phase, have a young and stable population structure, in addition, there was a peak from the phase of saplings to mature trees. The distribution pattern of O. fragrans populations in different samples has certain differences, due to the comprehensive effects of limiting factors and population adaptive strategies. The spatial distribution patterns of O. fragrans were change from cluster types to random types, intensity degree decreased with the development of growth phase, the distribution patterns of seedling and samplings were cluster distribution while mature trees were random distribution.
