The effect of different phosphorus supply levels on the growth of Petunia hybrida
In order to improve the seedling and maintenance techniques of Petunia hybrida, this study used P.hybrida variety'Dream Rose Red'as the experimental material, and set up 5 different phosphorus concentration nutrient solutions to treat petunia seedlings. The effect of different phosphorus supply levels on the growth related indicators of P.hybrida was studied. The results showed that different concentrations of phosphorus supply had varying effects on the plant height of P.hybrida with different treatment times,by the 5th week, the average plant height of the treatment group with a phosphorus concentration of 7.5 mg·L-1 was the highest(reaching 14.25 cm).As the time increases, the difference in crown width between the high phosphorus concentration treatment group and the low phosphorus concentration treatment group gradually increases.By the 5th week, the higher the phosphorus concentration, the larger the crown width, the crown width of the treatment group with a phosphorus concentration of 45.0 mg·L-1 can reach 22.90 cm.The number of leaves, branches, and flower buds showed an upward trend with increasing phosphorus concentration, but there was no significant difference in leaf SPAD values among the treatment groups. After destructive sampling,it was found that the total phosphorus and dry weight of the aboveground and underground parts of the plants also increased with the increase of phosphorus concentration, but the root to shoot ratio decreased with the increase of phosphorus concentration. Therefore, different levels of phosphorus supply had a significant impact on the nutritional growth of P.hybrida.Insufficient phosphorus supply can reduce important ornamental indicators such as crown width, number of leaves, number of branches, and number of flower buds of petunias.
