Graft compatibility of Camellia oleifera clones'Ganxing 48'
Selected'Ganxing 48',an excellent clone of Camellia as the scion, grafting compatibility was studied on C.oleifera'Ganxing 48'by using C.Baipizhongzi and'Ganyong 5'as rootstocks in the seedling stage. The results showed that:the survival rate of the two rootstock grafted seedlings was higher than 90%,and there was no significant difference. The annual root growth performance of Baipizhongzi rootstock grafted seedlings was better than that of'Ganyong 5'rootstock grafted seedlings, but the aboveground part and two-year-old root growth of'Ganyong 5'rootstock grafted seedlings were better, and the number of leaves(4.01),two-year-old seedling height(27.53 cm)and coarse root volume(33.41 cm3)were significantly higher than those of'Baipizhongzi'rootstock grafted seedlings. Moreover, the decrease in the growth parameters of the two-year-old root system was smaller. The contents of soluble sugar and soluble protein in the two rootstock grafted seedlings decreased first and then increased, and the peroxidase activities reached the peak at 20 days.In the late stage of grafting, the peroxidase activity of grafted seedlings of'Baipizhongzi'rootstock was significantly higher than that of grafted seedlings of'Ganyong 5'rootstock.Comprehensive survival rate, shoot parts and root growth, with'Ganxing 48'as the scion,'Ganyong 5'has a stronger grafting affinity than the'Baipizhongzi'.
