Determination of 24 inorganic elements in Poria cocos and health risk assessment
To evaluate the quality and heavy metal pollution status of Poria cocos,it was provided a reference for establishing the quality evaluation system of P.cocos.The content of 24 elements, including Li,Be,Ti,V,Cr,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,etc.,in 41 samples of P.cocos from different Provinces such as Yunnan,Anhui, and Hubei was determined using microwave digestion ICP-MS.The safety and health risk assessment of five heavy metals,Pb,Cd,Cu,As,Hg,and harmful elements were conducted using single factor pollution index(Pi)and Nemero comprehensive index(Pc)methods. The results showed that the content of Fe in P.cocos was the highest(33.49 mg·kg-1),followed by Cu(1.56 mg·kg-1),Ti(1.208 mg·kg-1),Ba(1.007 mg·kg-1),and Rb(0.998 mg·kg-1).The comprehensive values of Pi and Pc in 41 samples of P.cocos were both less than 0.7,which were at a safe level. The health risk assessment model with target hazard coefficient(THQ)and carcinogenic risk(CR)as indicators showed that when P.cocos was used for a long time, its heavy metal and harmful element content will not have significant health effects on the exposed population, and there was no potential carcinogenic risk.
