Analysis of Profitability Trends for User-Side Energy Storage Projects in Zhejiang Province under the New Time-of-Use Electricity Pricing Policy
User-side energy storage systems aim to generate profits by storing electricity during low-demand periods and releasing it during peak hours for use by electrical equipment, leveraging the difference between peak and off-peak prices. This paper employs a comparative analysis to assess the impact of new time-of-use electricity pricing policies on the profitability of user-side energy storage projects in Zhejiang province. The implementation of the new policy has had a significant impact on energy storage for large industrial users, resulting in a decrease in profitability.Notably, the sales and net profits of 110 kV large industrial user energy storage projects have decreased significantly, while the impact on 10 kV projects has been relatively minor. It is recommended that large industrial user energy storage projects adjust their charging and discharging strategies, select suitable energy storage products, study electricity price trends during the early stages of project development, and closely monitor time-of-use electricity pricing policies.
