Based on the survey data of 328 rural households in Yunnan province,this paper uses propensity score matching and path analysis model to empirically analyze the impact of internal cooperation governance on irrigation water use efficiency of farmland water resources.The results show that the internal cooperation governance model significantly improves the efficiency of irrigation water use by rural households.The internal cooperation model of governance creates village community rationality in irrigation matters and gives full play the demonstration effect of capapble individuals in rural areas,thereby increasing the efficiency of water use by rural households.Compared to self-governance,internal cooperation governance also enhances collective action for facility maintenance.Compared to market-governance,internal cooperation governance only has the advantage of lower irrigation water availability.Based on this,it is recommended to clarify the supervision responsibilities of village organizations,give full play to the demonstration role of capapble individuals and increase irrigation rural households'participation in order to achieve efficient irrigation and effective governance of village public affairs.
