Effects of Supplying Hydromel and Mating Behavior on Life -span of Procecidochares utilis Adults
The effects of different concentrations of hydromel and mating behavior on the life - span of Procecidochares utllis female and male adults were studied under laboratory condition. The results showed that the life - span of unmated Procecidochares utilis adults fed on different concentrations of hydromel could be prolonged, and the life - spans of male and female adults fed on 10% hydromel were the longest, being (23.58 ±2.65) d and (27.39 ±2.29) d, respectively. The life - spans of mated male and female a-dults were significantly lower than those of the unmated adults under the same nutrition condition.
