Analysis of Correlation between Salt Stress and Yield Formation of Different Types of Sweet Sorghum Varieties
In order to study the effect of salt stress on the yield formation of different types of sweet sorghum varieties , fourteen sweet sorghum varieties were treated with four different concentrations (0, 0.3%, 0.6% and 0.8%) of salt. The results showed that the differences in fresh -weight yield and grain yield among different types of sweet sorghum varieties were significant .The fresh-weight yield and grain yield decreased with the increase of salt concentration .However, the declines in fresh-weight yield and grain yield of hybrid varieties were lower than those of conventional varieties , indicating that hybrid varieties had stronger salt tolerance. The growth and development of sweet sorghum were significantly inhibited under high salt concentration .The most sensi-tive trait to salt stress was grain yield, followed by grain weight per spike , spike weight, grain number per spike, 1000 -grain weight, duration from sowing to seedling emergence , stem weight, leaf weight, fresh weight per plant, fresh-weight yield in se-quence.The stepwise regressive statistical analysis revealed that the main factors affecting the grain yield were grain weight per spike, spike weight, 1000-grain weight, spike length, grain number per spike, and spike diameter. The main factors influential to fresh-weight yield were fresh weight per plant , stem weight, leaf weight, sheath weight, stem diameter and plant height .
