Comparison of Soil Organic Carbon Characteristics under 4 Major Forest Types in Jiangxi Province
According to the measured data of 64 surveyed sample plots, using SPSS software, taking Chinese fir forest, masson pine forest, broadleaf forest, mixed broadleaf -conifer forest in Jiangxi as research objects, the author analyzed the distribution characteristics of soil organic carbon and its relationship with soil bulk density. The soil organic carbon content in 1-m soil profile distribution of above four forest types all showed the following trend:surface soil layer>subsurface soil layer>bottom soil layer, namely the organic carbon of forest soil was distributed mainly in the surface soil layer. The organic carbon content in the same soil layer of different forest types revealed the following order:broadleaf forest>mixed broadleaf-conifer forest>Chinese fir forest>masson pine forest. There was obvious difference in soil organic carbon content among various forest types as well as among different soil layers. The organic carbon content in different soil layers of four forest types all was significantly negatively correlated with soil bulk density. As for the organic carbon density of forest soil, four forest types could be ranked as follows:broadleaf forest (13.2265 kg/m2 ±1.18197 kg/m2)>mixed broadleaf-conifer forest (11.1804 kg/m2 ±1.78677 kg/m2) >Chinese fir forest (9.1065 kg/m2 ±1.18197 kg/m2)>masson pine forest (6.2019 kg/m2 ±0.94853 kg/m2).There was significant difference in soil or-ganic carbon density among different forest types, and the average soil organic carbon density of main forest types in Jiangxi province was (10.1740 ±0.6935) kg/m2 .
