Effects of Air-curing Time on Physiological Characteristics of Upper Leaves during Curing and Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco
In order to study the effects of air-curing time on the physiological characteristics of upper leaves during curing and the quality of flue-cured tobacco, the upper leaves of K326 were used as experimental materials, and the local conventional way(no air-drying before curing)was used as CK.Two drying time(T1:24 h;T2:36 h)were set up,and the effects of air-drying followed by flue-curing on flue-curing technology, physiological characteristics and chemical and aroma components of flue-cured tobacco were studied. The results showed that the moisture content of T1 and T2 treatments decreased by 2.81 and 3.03 percent points respectively, the total curing time of T2 treatment decreased by 22 h,and the average price increased by 4.13%.The nicotine and total nitrogen content in T2 treatment samples were significantly reduced by 1.16 and 0.35 percent points respectirely. The browning reaction products,L-phenylalanine pyrolysis products and carotenoid degradation products in T1 and T2 treatments were increased, and the total aroma amount in T2 treatment was increased by 6.40%.Based on the above results, the curing time of the upper leaves of K326 in Nanping was shortened by adding air-curing before the flue-curing,the economic characters were better, and the overall quality of the flue-cured leaves met the quality requirements of the upper leaves. The effect of T2 treatment was the best.
