Agricultural Modernization:World Historical Process and China's Long-term Strategy
Promoting agricultural modernization is an arduous,complex and systematic project.In the process of global agricultural modernization,the scientific and technological revolution has driven the emer-gence and development of agricultural mechanization,agrochemicals,agricultural biotechnology,and digital agriculture.The combination of technological revolution,industrialization,urbanization and in-formatization has propelled the development of agricultural modernization.Despite China's significant achievements as a latecomer in this field,there are still gaps compared to the first-mover countries in the world,with declining internal food supply structure,increased uncertainty in external supply,weak agricultural infrastructure,evident constraints in resource endowment and factor allocation,obvious trends of rural population aging,low agricultural labor productivity,incomplete agricultural production and management methods,gaps in rural tripartite integration and modern industrial systems.The trans-formation of sustained income growth motivation and the challenge of achieving common prosperity lie in rural areas.Looking ahead,adopting long-term strategies,constructing a diversified food supply system,coordinating efforts on both supply and demand sides to ensure food security,coordinating land and sea to expand agricultural production space,optimizing and improving resource allocation efficiency,syner-gistically promoting new urbanization and citizenization of agricultural migrant workers,raising the level of rural human capital,promoting diversified integration and development of rural industries,accelerat-ing the establishment of modern agricultural production,management,and industrial systems,and per-sisting in increasing rural residents'income and promoting common prosperity in the process of urban-rural integration development.
