Multi-skilled worker allocation with expected redeployment in emergencies taken into consideration
The Seru production system, which has scattered units,is prone to a shortage of multi-skilled workers in emergen-cies.In order to restore the operational capacity of the damaged units as soon as possible,it is necessary to redeploy multi-skilled workers from normal units. In this article, efforts are made to explore the initial allocation of multi-skilled workers with expected redeployment in emergencies taken into consideration.According to the number of workers in terms of initial allocation and short-age,the expected redeployment criterion is formulated;the model of optimal allocation for multi-skilled workers is set up,with the goals of the operational efficiency and the total cost;the Pareto solution set is obtained by mean of the improved NSGA-Ⅱ.Such an example is adopted:a large enterprise producing electric vehicles in China builds its production bases in six cities. The allocation of multi-skilled workers at different levels is determined. It is verified that both the model and the algorithm are valid and feasibility;the sensitivity analysis is performed on the probability of a shortage of multi-skilled workers. The results show that the probability of a shortage of multi-skilled workers has a significant impact on the expected redeployment cost. The extreme pur-suit of the minimum total cost leads to the idleness of multi-skilled workers to some extent. Therefore,a reasonable lower bound should be proposed for the operational efficiency according to the actual situation.
