Research on Geometric Characteristics of Steel Wire Wear Scar of WR-CVT
Friction and wear analysis is of key significance to the life prediction and reliability theory of wire ropes. This paper takes 6×7+IWS steel rope loop as the research object, and utilizes ABAQUS software to simulate the fretting wear between the steel wires.Under the condition of a contact load of 1N and a number of cycles of 50,000,the evolution of the wear depth, area and volume of the steel wire specimens at the crossing angles of 30°,45°,60°,and 90°was studied. The simulation results show that, the wear scar depth and wear scar volume are the smallest at θ=30°,which are 0.0034mm and 1037.483×10-5mm3respec-tively;The wear scar depth and wear scar volume are the largest at θ=90°,which are 0.0082mm and 1040.831×10-5mm3respec-tively.Under the same cross angle, the wear scar depth of the upper wire is smaller than that of the lower wire, and the contact area of the upper wire is always greater than that of the lower wire. When the total wear scar depth of the upper and lower steel wires reaches the scrap standard, the number of cycles required for the 30°,45°,60° and 90° cross samples are 608,696,509091,466667and437500in turn. This study provides a theoretical basis for the wear scar geometry and life prediction of steel rope loops under fretting wear.
