Research on the Application of Asymptote-Like Characteristics in Camera Calibration
Aiming at the camera calibration in the field of machine vision, the internal and external parameters of the camera are calibrated by introducing the physical meaning according to the characteristics of asymptote.Firstly,a 6×6 circular hole calibra-tion plate was used to calculate the projection matrix of the camera. Then according to the definition of the limit, when the projec-tion point p(u,v)on the image plane does not change at v and u tends to positive infinity, the line between the optical center and point p forms an asymptote-like line, which is parallel to the XC axis of the camera coordinate system and is used as the XC axis in calibration.According to this characteristic, the obtained projection matrix is decomposed to obtain the internal and external pa-rameters of the camera. Finally, according to the proposed method, calibration experiments are carried out, this method can effec-tively decompose the camera projection matrix to obtain the corresponding internal and external parameters. The results show that the calibration data obtained by this method are used to solve the projection's coordinates of feature point, and there are small er-rors with the actual corresponding image feature points;and the internal and external parameters obtained by decomposing the projection matrix have small errors with the results obtained by the Faugeras calibration method, which meets the actual accuracy requirements of the project.
