Influence of Pits Position on the Friction and Wear Performance of 81107 Bearings
The method of improving the friction performance by texturing the surface of mechanical parts has been widely recog-nized,but its application and research in rolling bearings are few.It is considering that the inner and outer stresses in the contact area between the roller and the raceway are relatively large and the stress in the middle position is relatively small. In this paper,A variety of texture samples with different distribution of pits with 1/4 inside,1/4 outside,1/2 inside,1/2 outside,3/4 inside,3/4 outside, both sides and full texture are designed and prepared on the shaft ring of 81107 bearing.Experiments and characteriza-tions were carried out using MMW-1A universal friction and wear testing machine,three-dimensional non-contact profilometer and electronic balance equipment. The results show that the friction and wear performance of the outer texture sample is better than the inner one;the 1/4 outer texture sample has the best friction and wear performance.Compared with smooth bearings, the amount of wear is reduced by 16%,and the average coefficient of friction is reduced by 47%.This will provide an important refer-ence for rolling bearing raceway design and optimization.
