Research on Suspension Stiffness of FSAE Racing Car Based on Target Roll Angle Stiffness
In order to improve the handling stability and limit roll acceleration of FSAE racing cars,a method for calculating the stiff-ness of the double wishbone suspension of the racing car based on the target roll angle stiffness is proposed.By setting the target roll angle stiffness of the car,the wheel load transfer amount under the unit roll acceleration of the car and the distribution of the front and rear sus-pension roll angle stiffness are determined, and the stabilizer bar stiffness of the front and rear suspension is derived. The ADAMS/Car suspension model is established, with the goal of minimizing the amount of wheel load transfer when the entire vehicle rolls, and the in-tergenerational mapping genetic algorithm is used to solve the curve of wheel alignment parameters and suspension stiffness with the wheel up and down. Both the simulation results and the actual vehicle verification results show that compared with the suspension stiff-ness calculation without setting the target roll angle stiffness, this method can more effectively reduce the rolling wheel load transfer of the racing car and improve the roll acceleration and steering stability of the racing car in extreme conditions.
