Study on Magnetorheological Polishing Process of Additive Molding 316L
The determination of magnetorheological polishing process parameters has a direct influence on the surface roughness of the sample. The effects of different magnetorheological polishing process parameters(spindle speed, horizontal feed speed,pol-ishing gap)on the surface roughness of 316L stainless steel samples were studied by single factor test method. The results show that with the increase of spindle speed, the surface roughness of 316L stainless steel sample decreases at first and then increases;the horizontal feed will reduce the influence of magnetic field distribution of permanent magnet on the appearance of magnetorheologi-cal polishing pad to a certain extent, increase the uniformity of polishing trajectory and reduce the surface roughness;while the polishing gap directly affects the polishing pressure of the sample clamped by abrasive particles in the magnetorheological polish-ing pad, thus affecting the polishing quality. At the end of the experiment, the optimal process parameters are obtained as follows:spindle speed 600r/min,horizontal feed speed 0.8mm/min and polishing gap 0.6mm.At this time, the surface roughness value Ra after polishing is 0.023µm,which is the optimal value in all experiments. It can be seen that the appropriate process parameters can further improve the surface quality after magnetorheological polishing.
