Research on High-Speed Bird Impact Performance of Composite Honeycomb Sandwich Panel
In order to study the impact resistance of composite honeycomb sandwich panels under high speed impact of bird,and the use of honeycomb sandwich materials in the lightweight design of mechanical structures,a simulation model was established by using finite element simulation software LS-DYNA to simulate the impact of glass fiber reinforced composite panels、carbon fi-ber reinforced composite panels and equivalent NOMEX aramid paper honeycomb core.The effects of two kinds of honeycomb ma-terials、the wall thickness of honeycomb core cell、the composite panel and aluminum alloy panel on the impact resistance of honey-comb sandwich panel were studied.The results show that the thickness of the honeycomb core and the thickness of the panel have great influence on the impact resistance of the composite honeycomb sandwich structure.Under the same structural parameters,the aluminum honeycomb and aluminum panel have better performance against the high speed impact of bird.At the same mass and different thickness,the impact resistance of composite panel and aramid paper honeycomb is better,suitable for lightweight design of mechanical structure.
