Study on Digital Image Correlation Forming Failure of TC4 Titanium Alloy Plate
In order to explore the fracture problem of TC4 titanium alloy sheet caused by stress concentration caused by tip force in the forming process. At room temperature(20℃)and 100℃,the forming-failure tests of TC4 titanium alloy specimens with thickness of 0.5mm and width of 120mm and 70mm were carried out by using the tip head. The digital image correlation(DIC)method was used to collect the image of the whole forming-failure process of titanium alloy sheet. The full-field displacement and strain cloud images and related data of titanium alloy sheet in the whole process were obtained by matching calculation, and the obtained data were com-pared and analyzed. The experimental results show that the change trend of displacement Y of TC4 titanium alloy at the moment be-fore fracture presents obvious asymmetry in the vertical direction, while the displacement X,displacement Z and displacement present the shape of approximately concentric circle.Through the analysis of the obtained data,it is proved that the temperature will affect the strain distribution of the specimen. At room temperature, the strain nephogram was approximately symmetrically distributed at the moment before the fracture, while at 100℃,the strain nephogram was asymmetrically distributed along the vertical direction of the center. This experiment provides an effective reference for the subsequent stress analysis and displacement strain research of TC4titani-um alloy plate.
