In order to study the uncertainty of engineering structures with multiple cracks in service,by changing the relative posi-tions of the multiple cracks, the J-integral value of the main crack tip was calculated by using the finite element numerical meth-od,and the interaction law of multiple cracks was analyzed. The results show that when there is overlap between cracks,interfer-ence cracks can slow down the growth of the main cracks. When there is no overlap between the cracks, the interference crack will accelerate the propagation of the main crack. The smaller the angle between the interference crack and the main crack, the greater the influence of the interference crack on the main crack. When the horizontal spacing ratio is more than9or the vertical spacing ra-tio is more than±3,the interference crack have no effect on the main crack. From the safety point of view, the influence of two inter-ference cracks on the main crack can be regarded as the superposition of the influence of two interference cracks on the main crack.
