The Influence of Combustion Chamber Structure on the Performance of Highly Intensified Diesel Engine
The design of the combustion chamber structure directly affects the combustion process, thereby affecting its power and economy. The throat diameter is the main structural parameter of the throat combustor.A simulation study was carried out on the combustion process of four combustion chambers with different throat diameters on a highly Intensified diesel engine. The results show that reducing the diameter of the throat of the combustion chamber helps to enhance the turbulent kinetic energy in the cylin-der,promote the mixing of oil and gas, improve the combustion process, and increase the power of the diesel engine. The indicated power of the combustion chamber after the reduced diameter of the throat is higher than that of the original machine, and the indi-cated power of the G1 combustion chamber is increased the most,1.81% .However, the diameter of the throat is not the less the bet-ter.If the throat diameter is too small,it is not conducive to the maintenance of turbulence in the middle and late stages of combus-tion and affects mixed combustion.
