Analysis of Wear Degree and Sensitivity to Residual Internal Compressive Strength of Coiled Tubing
In order to solve the friction and wear problem between coiled tubing and casing inner wall when running and tripping of horizontal Wells. The friction and wear of coiled tubing during running and tripping of horizontal Wells was studied by refer-ring to the idea of drillpipe-casing wear model and adopting the"wear-efficiency"model,then the calculation method and for-mula of the wear depth of coiled tubing outer wall were obtained. The influence of sensitivity factors such as outer diameter, wall thickness, steel grade and wear rate on the residual internal compressive strength of worn coiled tubing was analyzed by using ANSYS Workbench finite element software.Studies have shown that the first yielding position of the worn coiled tubing is differ-ent with different wear rates. When the wear rate ofΦ44.45mm×3.96mmof QT-900coiled tubing ranges from 0% to25%,the re-sidual internal compressive strength decreases by 35% .The residual internal compressive strength of worn coiled tubing increases non-linearly with the increase of wall thickness and steel grade, and decreases non-linearly with the increase of outer diameter and wear rate. The wear rate has the strongest effect on the residual internal compressive strength of coiled tubing. The research re-sults can provide guidance for the construction parameters of coiled tubing after wear.
