Process Optimization of SAE1008 Low Carbon Steel High Speed Grinding Wheel for Sports Equipment
The SAE1008 steel used in sports equipment was tested by single factor using CBN wheel high-speed grinding technol-ogy.The variation characteristics of surface residual stress under different grinding processes were compared, and the related in-fluencing factors were analyzed. The results show that when the grinding wheel linear velocity reaches 60m/s,a larger tangential force is obtained, and the compressive residual stress is significantly reduced compared with other process conditions. When the feed speed of grinding wheel increases, the residual compressive stress decreases linearly, and greater specific grinding energy and smaller residual compressive stress are obtained.Tensile stress is present in the range of(0.5~0.6)mm/min,and the layer depth caused by stress is between(100~150)μm,resulting in higher grinding temperature.Compared with other grinding wheels, the 230/270 grinding wheel forms smaller surface residual stress, and also produces residual tensile stress along the depth direc-tion.This study provides some reference value for the design of high speed grinding technology to reduce the residual tensile stress and improve the structural integrity of steel workpiece surface.
