Study on Surface Protective Layer and Properties of Magnesium Alloy Automobile Hub
In order to solve the problems that the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloy wheel hub is poor and the surface protec-tive layer can not meet the needs of practical application,micro arc oxidation protective layer,polyester paint protective layer and fluorocarbon paint protective layer were prepared on the surface of magnesium alloy automobile wheel hub respectively,and the microstructure,corrosion resistance and bending properties of the three protective layers were compared and analyzed.The results showed that,the thickness of micro arc oxidation protective layer is the smallest(10.79µm)and the adhesion to the matrix is the lowest(2.10N),while the thickness of fluorocarbon paint protective layer is the largest(67.17µm)and the adhesion to the ma-trix is the highest(33.95N),the protective layer thickness of polyester paint protective layer and fluorocarbon paint protective layer shall meet the TQ2 class-A requirements in QCT 484-1999 automobile paint coating standard.The corrosion resistance of the three protective layers is better than that of magnesium alloy matrix,and polyester paint protective layer and fluorocarbon paint protective layer have significantly higher corrosion resistance.In the static bending test,the ductility of micro arc oxidation protective layer and polyester paint protective layer is better than that of fluorocarbon paint protective layer;During the dynamic bending test,the micro arc oxidation protective layer,polyester paint protective layer and fluorocarbon paint protective layer samples began to crack,and the corresponding bending times were 3659 times,5077 times and 4280 times respectively.The pro-tective layer of polyester paint has great adhesion with the matrix,and has good corrosion resistance and static/dynamic bend-ing properties.
