Research on Lower Limb Injury Optimization in Frontal Crash
In the frontal crash test of a car development project, there were high leg compression force and knee sliding displace-ment problems on the passenger side dummy.Through the analysis of the dummy's lower limb movement and load distribution during the test, and setting up the finite element constraint system simulation model to make a calibration for test results, then found out the main cause of the high leg compression force and knee sliding displacement. And by changing the structure of carpet to limit foot movement in the process of collision,it effectively reduces the dummy's leg compression force and knee sliding dis-placement.And then sums up the molded surface requirements of carpet surface at foot area and dashboard at legs contact area.
