Study on the Removal Characteristics of SiCp/Al Material in Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted Grinding
SiCp/Al is used in many fields because of its high strength, low density, high wear resistance and other advantages, such as aerospace, automotive and electronics fields.However,SiCp/Al is a typical difficult-to-process material, and it is easy to cause surface damage during the grinding process.Thereby affecting the surface accuracy and material removal rate of the workpiece.Based on the grinding and removal mechanism of metal matrix composites,a finite element simulation model was es-tablished.Simulation of ultrasonic machining SiCp/Alsurface damage form, particle crushing method and material removal pro-cess.Through the ultrasonic vibration assisted grinding SiCp/Al experiment,it can be seen that ultrasonic vibration can effec-tively reduce the surface roughness. The roughness value is 33nm.The material removal rate increases with the increase of spindle speed and grinding depth, and decreases with the increase of feed speed.
