Effect of Surface Coating Distribution on Locking Torque of Self-Locking Bolts
Coated self-locking bolts are important fasteners in aerospace field. The surface coating has a significant effect on the locking torque and safety of self-locking bolts. In order to solve the aerospace structure with threaded connection loose problem, this paper analyzes the self-locking bolt locking mechanism and locking measures, put forward the whole week coating layer,to the point and three and a half weeks coating surface coating distribution form, and complete the test analysis, the optimum coat-ing layer distribution form for half a week, selection of coating materials for NYLON11 nylon powder; The self-locking bolts were tested by semi-cycle coating test and high temperature test. The results show that when the whole coating and the point coat-ing are used, the locking torque is too large, the coating is damaged and the locking torque declines seriously with the screw in.When the coating is half circumference,no coating damage occurs when the bolt is screwed in.When the coating thickness ensures that the self-locking bolt can freely pass through the ring gage(maximum thread diameter+0.076mm),the locking performance is excellent. The maximum locking torque at room temperature and high temperature tend to be around 1.82N·m and 1.51N·m,respectively.At room temperature and high temperature, the minimum loosening moment is greater than 0.22N·mto meet the pro-duction requirements.
