Analysis and Design of Flux Focusing Alternating Vernier Permanent Magnet Motor
In order to reduce the amount of permanent magnets of the traditional magnetization permanent magnet vernier mo-tor,it can still maintain a large torque density,a new type of flux focusing alternating pole permanent magnet vernier motor is proposed.Compared with the traditional flux focusing permanent magnet vernier motor, the new topology structure motor can maintain better torque output characteristics while reducing the amount of permanent magnets through the alternating pole rotor design.it first introduces the structural characteristics and working principle of the flux focusing alternating pole vernier perma-nent magnet motor.Secondly, with the goal of maximizing the output torque, the key parameters of the proposed new structure motor are optimized and analyzed by the finite element methon. Finally,a comparative analysis of the electromagnetic perfor-mance of the new-type magnetic alternating-pole permanent magnet vernier motor and the traditional magnetic-focusing perma-nent magnet vernier motor, including air-gap magnetic density, back EMF and torque performance,is compared and analyzed. The results show that under the same volume, the proposed the new topology motor has a higher torque density and fewer perma-nent magnets. Therefore,it has broad application prospects in low-speed high-torque direct drive applications.
