MODIFICATION OF CATIONIC EMULSION POLYMER BY CATIONIC CHITOSAN AND ITS FLOCCULATION PERFORMANCE
The cationic lotion polymer was modified by inverse emulsion polymerization technology,u-sing methacryloyloxyethyl trimethylammonium chloride, acrylamide and N,N-dimethylacrylamide as polymerization monomers, and introducing cationic chitosan. The structural characteristics of cationic chitosan functionalized cationic emulsion polymer were studied, and the flocculation performance of the polymer in treating recycled paper wastewater and oil-bearing wastewater was further evaluated. The results showed that when the dosage of cationic chitosan modifier was 8%,and the dosage of modified cationic lotion polymer was 28 mg/L,the removal rate of chemical oxygen demand(COD)of recycled paper wastewater was 97%-98%,and the removal rate of suspended solids was 96%;When the dosage of modified cationic emulsion polymer is only 6 mg/L,the deoiling efficiency for oily sew-age can reach 98.43%.
