Development of gas-water alternating recovery technology
Water alternating gas(WAG)technology is an effective method to enhanced oil recovery and has been widely applied in various types of reservoirs.Firstly,in this paper, the development background and re-search significance of WAG technology were introduced.Subsequently, the WAG technology was classified based on injection mode, fluid type, and phase state. The advantages and disadvantages of WAG technologies and the mechanism of oil displacement were described.Furthermore, the effect of water salinity, hysteresis ef-fect,reservoir heterogeneity, wettability, and WAG ratio on WAG technology were discussed. In addition, the challenges encountered in the implementation of WAG technology such as gas breakthrough, equipment prob-lems and asphaltene deposition were analyzed. And the corresponding solution measures were put forward and the future research direction was pointed out.
