Chinese Public Libraries Participate in Open Educational Resources Movement:Feasibility,Challenges and Countermeasures
The Open Educational Resources(OER)movement has been carried out for more than 20 years,universities and research libraries play their educational functions and actively participate in it.This article analyzes the feasibility of Chinese public libraries participating in the OER movement,including motivation,opportunity and ability.In view of the challenges faced by public libraries in copyright,quality and supporting resourc-es,the article puts forward some solutions such as formulating policies,uniting social forces,paying atten-tion to basic education,resource construction and service,and professional personnel training.
