Bibliotherapy and Developmental Reading Healing Services in Public Library
This article firstly introduces the concept of western bibliotherapy and its development in China,and then it presents three practical cases about the'reading healing'services carrying out by public libraries in China and in the USA.Then this study summarizes the service concepts and development characteristics involved in the three cases.It is necessary for public libraries to launch out this work by learning from the existing cases.Attentions should be focused on the following four aspects,the first thing is the development of the reading healing literature resources,and the second is reading promotion about the relating literature,and then is the service professionalization,the last is the space construction.This work is of great significance for public libraries and for social reading promotion.
