A Study on the Factors Influencing the Psychological Gap of New Librarians in University Libraries
The addition of new librarians can bring new working methods and ideas to university libraries,break the original work inertia,and provide strong support for the sustainable development of the library industry.However,there is a psychological gap between librarians the psychological expectations and the actual situ-ation of university libraries due to various factors such as personal mentality,school education,and social in-fluence at the beginning of their employment.This paper uses grounded theory to conduct semi-structured interviews with 32 newly hired librarians in university libraries,sorts out five factors that affect the psycho-logical gap of new librarians,including occupational cognitive positioning,environmental culture,and inter-personal management,and proposes some suggestions from the perspectives of individual librarians,gradua-tion institutions,and university libraries,in order to help new librarians adapt to their work identity smooth-ly,improve work efficiency,and contribute to the talent pool construction of university libraries.
