The Current Situation,Value and Suggestions of Reprint Deposition in the Practice of Deposit System for Publications
Since the implementation of the Public LibrariesLaw of the People's Republic of China for the last five years,the establishment and implementation of the publication deposit system have played an important role in the comprehensive preservation of publications in China.However,in specific practice,the identification of the deposit of reprints has always been unclear.The library and society have not reached a consensus and consistent implementation standards,which may easily lead to a gap in publication deposit.This paper sorts out the basis for deposit of reprinted copies from the establishment and extension of the deposit system of publications at home and abroad,and clarifies the cognition and current situation of the deposit of reprints.Based on the similarities and differences of several types of reprints in China to explore the value and signifi-cance of reprints,and puts forward some suggestions for improving the deposit work of reprints in China's publication deposit system.
