Effects of Different Types of Hypoxia on Hemoglobin Properties in Mice
Objective In order to enhance students'understanding of the characteristics of various types of hypoxia, the experiment not only needs to observe the changes in mouse respiration, skin mucosa and blood color caused by different types of hypoxia, but also needs to detect the changes in the properties of hemoglobin in mice under different types of hypoxia. Methods Mice were randomly divided into normal control group, airtight container group, carbon monoxide group, and sodium nitrite group.A blood oxygen analyzer was used to determine the percentage content of different types of hemoglobin in mouse blood. The study was conducted from February 2021 to May 2022.Results Compared with the normal control group, mice in the airtight container group showed a significant increase in reduced hemoglobin, carbon monoxide group mice exhibited a significant increase in carboxyhemoglobin, and mice in the sodium nitrite group injected intraperitoneally showed a significant increase in high iron hemoglobin. However, the total hemoglobin difference among the four groups of mice was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion This study clarifies the quantitative relationship between observed phenomena in hypoxia model experiments by examining changes in hemoglobin properties in different types of experimentally induced hypoxia. This contributes to the improved accuracy of experimental observations.
