Investigation and Influencing Factors of Doctor-patient Communication Ability Among Internal Medicine Interns
Objective To investigate the current status of doctor-patient communication skills among internal medicine interns and analyze the influencing factors.Methods A total of 35 clinical medical five-year students who interned in the department of internal medicine at Beijing Huairou Hospital from March to April 2022 were included in the study.A self-made questionnaire was used to investigate their doctor-patient communication skills,identify and analyze the factors that affect doctor-patient communication.Results The doctor-patient communication ability score of 35 internal medicine interns in Beijing Huairou Hospital was(118.64±10.56)points,and their communication ability was average.The results of multiple logistic regression analysis showed that gender,average score of courses during school,serving as a student leader,and personality were all factors that affected the doctor-patient communication ability of internal medicine interns(P<0.05).Conclusion The main factors affecting the doctor-patient communication skills of internal medicine interns are gender,grade point average of the courses taken during the school year,whether or not they have served as student leaders,and their personality.Therefore,in order to further improve the doctor-patient communication ability of interns,it is necessary to develop reasonable targeted education plans based on their actual situation to cultivate high-quality applied medical talents and provide assistance in optimizing the quality level of medical services.
