Application Value of Standardized Patients in the Teaching of Department of Respiratory Medicine for Children
Objective To discuss and explore the application value of standardized patients in the department of respiratory medicine for children during the process of the clinical teaching.Methods A total of 60 resident doctors who participated in the standardized resident training in the second ward of the department of respiratory medicine of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected and divided into control group and observation group,with 30 in each group.The traditional teaching method was used in the control group,and the standardized patients(SP)model was used in the observation group.The demonstration teaching content was"History collection of common respiratory diseases in children,lung physical examination and case analysis".In the end of the teaching,the results of the theoretical examination and practical operation examination of the two groups of residents were compared,and the residents'satisfaction with the SP teaching model was investigated by questionnaire.Results The results of the theory test between the control group and the observation group were basically similar,there was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05).The practical operation test scores of residents in observation group[(92.80±1.24)points]were significantly higher than that in control group[(85.40±3.69)points],the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The results of residents'satisfaction showed that most of the residents in the observation group believed that the application of SP could improve the logic of history collection,improve the ability of physical examination,improve the ability of clinical thinking,improve the ability of diagnosis and treatment,improve the ability of doctor-patient communication,and improve the interest in learning.Conclusion The application of SP teaching model can improve the medical history collection,physical examination and clinical thinking ability of residents,and improve the diagnosis and treatment ability of residents and the doctor-patient communication ability.The introduction of SP teaching model in the clinical teaching of children's respiratory department can improve the teaching effect,and it is highly accepted by residents,which has clear necessity and application value.It can provide new means and ideas for the clinical teaching of respiratory department,improve the professional quality and humanistic quality of pediatric medical students,and contribute to the training of more excellent pediatricians in the country.
