Application of 5A Teaching Model in Standardized Training Residents in General Surgery
Objective To explore the application effect of the 5A teaching model in the standardized training of resident doctors in general surgery. Methods A randomized controlled study was adopted. The subjects were trainees who received standardized training for resident doctors in the department of general surgery of First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 and entered the rotation learning of the research team. They were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group consisted of 20 trainees who were taught with the 5A teaching model, while the control group consisted of 20 trainees who were taught with the traditional teaching model. The two groups of trainees were evaluated on theoretical examinations, clinical skill assessments, and comprehensive ability assessments, and their scores were recorded. The teaching effects of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the experimental group performed better in the assessments of draping and gowning, incision and suturing, and laparoscopic skills, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The experimental group also outperformed the control group in teamwork and scientific research, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The experimental group had higher satisfaction with the teaching than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The 5A teaching model can significantly improve trainees'clinical practice skills, teamwork, and scientific research abilities, and can serve as an effective teaching method for the standardized training of resident doctors in general surgery.
